Kerry Larson, COO, Fresh and Natural Foods

In 2001, owners Kerry Larson and Bill Fogerty saw a need for a truly health-conscious grocer in the metro area and worked to develop a store that would offer more than just products. Their goal: to offer a fresh approach to healthy living, and you will see that in everything from the carefully selected products to the knowledgeable, customer-focused staff. The store became a reality and opened its doors in February 2002 and has since expanded into two additional stores.

Kerry is a 33-year veteran of the grocery industry and has a long history of bringing a customer focus to building businesses. He began his career at Cub Foods. Later, as an Operations Training Specialist he played an instrumental role at Cub Foods in the coordination and set-up of 10 franchises in seven states by consulting each Franchisee and training key management staff.

Kerry pursued similar avenues with Festival Foods, where he was instrumental in the development of its start-up concept and franchise training program. In this capacity he was directly responsible for the training and set-up of 7 new franchises within a 3 year time frame in 2 states.

Kerry later moved on with the Erickson group as a District Manager where he oversaw 9 stores. He then was giving the responsibility of developing a buying program for the procurement of all Frozen and Dairy for the 18 store chain. Then based on his background with his previous companies, he was designated as the Leader of Training and Human Development and soon found himself becoming actively involved with the incorporation of natural and organic foods into the company.

This fascination opened up another opportunity that pointed his career towards his exclusive involvement with natural and organic foods .He then accepted the position as the General Manager at the River Market Co-op in Stillwater. In this capacity he also served on the Board of the Twin Cities Natural Food Co-op’ (TCNFC).
